When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
If you arrive between 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, report to your unit commander. Before departing for Tinker Air Force Base, ensure you maintain contact with your sponsor to notify them of the date and time of your arrival.
After arrival you will be scheduled for the following briefings:
Base In-processing: Members in-process through Finance and their Unit Commander's Support Staff. Base in-processing includes gaining the new member onto the base, travel vouchers, permissive temporary duty for house hunting and scheduling the member for Right Start (Newcomers Orientation).

Right Start (Newcomers Orientation): This workshop is held the 2nd Wednesday of the month. All attendees must register by calling the Military and Family Readiness Center at 405-739-2747, no later than five business day prior to Right Start. Briefings include, welcome address from the installation commander and the 72d Air Base Wing Command Chief; 552d Air Control Wing Commander and Wing Command Chief; 72d Inspector General, Equal Opportunity Office, Housing Referral Office, Emergency Management Office, 72d Security Forces Squadron, Med Group and Military & Family Readiness Center.
20 hours of free child care is available within 60 days of arrival. More information can be obtained from contacting the Military and Family Readiness Center 405-739-2747.
For lodging needs, all members are directed to procure a room off base. No lodging available on base.
If you are enlisted and this is your first duty assignment, before you are permanently assigned to your unit, you will attend First Term Airman Center.

If you get married before you PCS or en route, you must inform your commander and report to the nearest DEERS/ID Card Office. You may also contact the Military Personnel Flight, MPF at 405-739-7646.

NOTE: As the sponsor, you must initiate the enrollment in DEERS, unless your spouse has and brings documentation of your power of attorney. If you're adding a stepchild to DEERS, the same documentation will be required.

Outbound Assignments is located in Building 1, Door 4. The hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All services are conducted virtually and must be scheduled by contacting Outbound Assignments at 405-739-3615 or 405-739-3616.
