The Airman and Family Readiness Center is the focal point for relocation assistance. The Relocation Assistance Program provides current information, services, counseling and education concerning relocation as it relates to the family life cycle. They also collaborate and coordinate with other federal, state and civilian agencies that provide relocation and other assistance services. The program also offers checklists, numerous pamphlets and handouts, seminars and one-on-one consultations, as well as a Loan Closet to assist with all aspects of the relocation process.
Relocation Services – Both Inbound and outbound orientations, Smooth Move classes, sponsorship training guidance and permanent change of station planning materials are included.
Loan Closet – Tinker Air Force Base does not have a Loan Closet.
Child care for PCS moves – PCSing service members may receive a certificate for 20 hours of free child care up to 60 days before departure and again upon arrival at the new base good for up to 60 days after arrival. Child care is provided by our on-base day care providers. Hours must be used within this period of time and they cannot be carried over.
Airman's Attic – This is provided for active-duty E-6 and below members. Volunteer opportunities are available.
Transition Assistance Program – TAP provides transition services to all military personnel, their dependent family members and Department of Defense civilians. The TAP workshop is a five-day seminar that provides separating or retiring individuals and spouses with information on resumes, job search skills, veterans benefits, interview techniques, resume writing and employment and training information.
