Warren offers the largest number of federal job opportunities. Executive Order 13473 (73 Federal Register 56703), signed by President Bush in September 2008 and effective 15 September 2009, allows all federal agencies to hire qualified military spouses without going through the competitive process. Military spouses still have to apply and be qualified for the job. This proposal creates a pool of military spouse applicants from which agencies may make noncompetitive selections, if they choose to do so.
Full-time K-12 teaching positions are not readily available. Individuals with teacher certifications from other states often substitute teach. Substitute pay averages $70 per day in public schools. You must register with the State Board of Education to substitute teach in any Michigan school.
