A loan closet is a program that allows service members, families and loved ones to borrow durable equipment or resources especially as they are awaiting their household good. This program varies by service so check out the below information to see what is offered at this installation.
Temporary loan of small household items and other relocation items is available for use by incoming and outgoing service members and their families. Loan duration is typically up to two weeks. Items available include kitchenware, appliances (toasters, irons and coffee makers), mattresses, car seats, cribs, high chairs, vacuums and strollers. Units located 50 miles or more from U.S. Army Garrison-Detroit Arsenal but supported by U.S. Army Garrison-Detroit Arsenal may be able to utilize the Loan Closet Outreach Program which allows specific loaner items to be placed onsite at the unit for distribution to incoming service members. Program availability is based on funding and the unit's geographical location.
