Command Sponsorship
If the military member does not secure command sponsorship and the family members are NOT on the service member's PCS orders, the military member has to pay out of pocket for travel expenses, which may include medical and dental expenses, official travel passports and much more. These costs are not reimbursable. Please secure command sponsorship before relocating.
If you get married en route during your PCS, you must inform your commander and follow the procedures exactly as you are given them. The military will not pay for travel and housing of your spouse if you do not follow the proper procedures.
