Legal Assistance

Legal assistance is provided by the Army's Northern Law Center, SHAPE. At the moment, there is no permanence at USAG Brussels. For an apoitment, customers must contact Northern Law Center in SHAPE, as there are no walk-in services offered at this time.

Types of Services:

Legal Services provided are:

1. Notarial services
2. Powers of attorney
3. Estate law
4. Separation agreements or family law-related issues on a case-by-case basis
5. Military related matters (i.e. General Officer Memorandum of Reprimand Rebuttal, NCOER/OER appeal, etc.)

Claims:

The SHAPE claims office will assist with the claims process for household goods, unaccompanied baggage and personally owned vehicle claims.

Be aware that for HHG/UB you will have 75 days from the date of delivery to notify the transportation service provider of any damage sustained during your move. For POV claims, you must note all damage at time of pickup from the vehicle processing center and photos are highly recommended.

You will have nine months from the date of delivery to file a claim with the TSP for HHG/UB claims in the Defense Personal Property System.
