Deployment can be a challenging phase of the military lifecycle, but it’s important to know that you don’t have to go through it alone. The military provides a variety of resources and support programs — ranging from educational briefings to morale calls — for your loved ones, children and service members to ease the stress of deployment. Military members may be assigned to a specific installation but support may come from local communities, Yellow Ribbon events or the installation itself.
If needed, Army Community Service will provide assistance to ensure service members and their families maintain individual readiness throughout the Deployment Cycle Support Process. ACS can assist with training materials, information and training.
At U.S. Army Garrison Benelux-Brussels, two webcams are set up in the Soldier For Life lounge (Building 4, Room 324) for families to speak to their loved ones downrange. Webcam computers are also available for general family support and are accessible during ACS operating hours, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and after duty hours by appointment for families in the deployment cycle.
In addition to ACS staff, a Military Family Life Consultant serves the Brussels community and is always available to provide support and a listening ear to those in need of a helping professional. Call the MFLC at 011-32-498-202-655.
