With certain military moves, you may find yourself looking for housing that’s a little less permanent before making long-term arrangements. There are several temporary housing options that may be right for you. Explore the information about temporary housing facilities including allowances, lodging rates and eligibility.
The Yongsan Dragon Hill Lodge is the on-post Temporary Lodging Facility at Yongsan operated for soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, civilians and their families. The lodge is operated as an Armed Forces Recreation Center by the U.S. Army in support of personnel assigned or employed by the U.S. Forces Korea, their family members and guests. The facility was built with soldier dollars, without congressional funding support. Profits generated from operations are returned to you, the stockholder, through frequent facility improvements you may see during your stay with us.
The facility has many restaurants, lounges and game rooms, as well as a myriad of services conveniently located within the hotel, including a first-class health and fitness club, an outdoor playground, a Post Exchange Shoppette and a concessionaire shopping area.
Just walking through the DHL can surprise the first-time visitor. The hotel's elegant interior and its professional staff can easily lead you to believe that you have entered a premier commercial hotel. The 394 guest rooms and suites feature a sumptuous, yet casual, contemporary decor with elegant furnishings and are specifically designed with comfort and convenience in mind. Each room has high-speed broadband internet-access ability. The "Dragon Experience" guestrooms are upgraded rooms that provide guests with superior accommodation with first-class amenities and range from spacious rooms to suites, with an elegant sitting room and a Jacuzzi.

TLA reimburses Soldiers for OCONUS government lodging and meals during a PCS. TLA is a separate reimbursement based on paperwork submitted to Finance. TLA is an allowance that is approved by Housing and processed by Finance. TLA is designed to offset the cost incurred by soldiers and their family members when it is necessary to occupy temporary lodging incident to PCS. TLA is available OCONUS only. Personnel must receive prior approval from the Housing Office while in-processing before occupying temporary lodging. This will be accomplished during your first hours in the USAG Yongsan - Casey immediately following the landing of your flight and your sponsor or bus ride to check in to the 1st Replacement Company. Service members and their family members are authorized up to 60 days TLA upon arrival. Soldiers authorized TLA must sign in upon arrival and submit paperwork for every 10 nights of lodging to be reimbursed for meal and/or lodging costs.
TLA is calculated according to a formula that factors in the Military member's pay grade, number of Family members, actual quarters cost, the availability of cooking facilities and the local per diem rate. TLA starts the same date as the member's overseas housing allowance.
How do we pay for all our travel?
If your family needs financial assistance to help pay for travel expenses before your Soldier is reimbursed, check out these options:
Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC)
All Soldiers on official government travel will be issued a GTCC through their losing unit for permissible expenses (see Appendix G of JTR Manual) while on official travel orders. GTCCs may not be used while on leave status.
Base Pay Advance
Review all options before taking a PCS pay advance. Within 60 days of arrival, Soldiers may qualify for an advance of up to 1 month of disposable pay (after allotments, taxes, and deductions). This must be paid back within 12 months.
If you have specific questions concerning housing services at USAG Yongsan - Casey, contact your unit sponsor.
