Whether you choose to send your child to a Department of Defense School, a private school or public school, your installation can help you explore all of your options to make the right decision for you and your child.
Children of families residing on base attend schools run by the Oceanside Unified School District, Fallbrook Unified School District, or Capistrano Unified School District. there are on DODEA schools onboard Camp Pendleton, all schools belong to their respective school district based on their location.

There are no high schools onboard Camp Pendleton. There are busing options available, please contact the School Liaison Office at 760-763-7385/7386 for additional and specific information.
The mission of the Base Education Center (BEC) is to provide personal and professional learning opportunities through education counseling, military and civilian testing, education workshops and briefs, on-base college classes, tuition assistance, online tutoring, administrative support, Credentialing Opportunities On-Line, US Apprenticeship Program, Leadership Scholar Programs and world-class customer service.
There are five higher education institutions aboard the base that provide academic programs from associates to master’s degrees. Along with base programs, students have options to seek programs with visiting schools. In addition, there are a variety of higher education opportunities within the community provided by the UC or Cal State Education System.

The mission of the School Liaison Office is to identify and coordinate community resources to reduce the impact of the mobile military lifestyle on military school-aged children and families; to implement predictable support services that assist children/youth with relocation, life transition, and achieving academic success; and to provide a wide range of resources that facilitate school transitions to parents, students, schools, commanders and communities.
There are five schools aboard the base. These are non-DOD schools belonging to two separate school districts. School assignment is determined by your home address.
