If you need emergency assistance, you can expect to get help from your installation, your branch of service resources. There are programs to support you in a variety of situations, including victim assistance, emergencies en route and service-specific relief societies. Sexual Assault
For immediate emergency assistance, please call the Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story 24/7 Sexual Assault Prevention and Response program victim advocate emergency number at 757-438-3455, Surface Combat Systems Center Wallops Island 24/7 SAPR duty victim advocate at 757-894-3949 or the DOD Sexual Assault Helpline at 877-995-5247.
For non-emergency contact your Fleet and Family Support Center at 757-462-7563 (Little Creek) or 757-422-7311 (Fort Story).
Domestic Violence/Family Advocacy
For immediate emergency assistance, please call 911 or the national hotline at 800-799-7233.
Remember while traveling to hand carry important medical papers, prescriptions, and important telephone numbers so that you can contact your sponsor and your next duty station in case an emergency arises.
Emergencies can happen no matter how much planning you do, so part of your plan needs to be" What if." If an emergency occurs while in transit, if possible, contact the nearest military installation for assistance. If you are not near a military installation and/or your emergency occurs after hours, contact the American Red Cross at 877-272-7337. If a financial emergency occurs, you can request Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society assistance through the American Red Cross. Information and Referral Assistance
The Fleet and Family Support Center, or FFSC, information and referral specialists can provide up to date information on military and community resources in the local area and beyond. If you have questions or concerns and need a starting point, call FFSC Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek's information and referral specialist at 757-462-7563.
211 VIRGINIA
211 Virginia is a free state-wide information and referral system that provides a wide variety of health and human service referrals. You can talk with a certified call specialist by dialing 211 toll free, seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. to midnight.
Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society
The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, or NMCRS, provides interest-free loans or grants to help with emergency needs such as emergency transportation, medical/dental bills, food, rent, disaster relief assistance, child care expenses, and essential vehicle repairs. American Red Cross
The American Red Cross provides social welfare services to needy military personnel and their families. They assist with emergency communications, financial assistance, and help with humanitarian reassignment and hardship. For assistance, call 877-272-7337.
