With certain military moves, you may find yourself looking for housing that’s a little less permanent before making long-term arrangements. There are several temporary housing options that may be right for you. Explore the information about temporary housing facilities including allowances, lodging rates and eligibility.
Little Rock has a Temporary Lodging Facility (TLF) equipped with all the amenities needed to make our guests feel at their "home away from home". They have one and two bedroom TLFs, the one-bedroom sleeping four and the two-bedroom sleeping six. The amenities include a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, TV and DVD/VCR, and a phone in every room. The units also include a pull-out couch in the living room. We also have several pet-friendly units with a fee of $10.00 per day/per unit, limit two pets per unit (cats and/or dogs only). Proof of rabies shots, as a minimum, ARE required prior to check-in. Evidence of additional shots may be required.
Those PCSing to Little Rock must contact the Lodging Office to make reservations, or have the sponsor make the reservations for you. If the sponsor is going to make the reservations for the PCSing family, the active duty member should ensure he/she has all the information required for lodging to be able to make the reservation, i. e. correct arrival date, number of adults and children, if any pets are traveling with them, reporting unit, cell phone # if available or POC information, and if at all possible, a credit card number, Visa or MasterCard, so lodging can guarantee the reservation. If there is no space available on base, you will then be provided a Non-Availability letter from lodging in order to secure a room off base and receive reimbursement for this room. In conjunction with the "NA" letter, you will also receive a return reservation date for on-base accommodations at the earliest date possible.
If you are TDY to Little Rock and plan to bring family members, be prepared to either accommodate them off-base or stay off-base at your own expense. TDY personnel can only request TLF rooms on a space available basis for family members, meaning the original reservation can only be for seven days, and extensions can only be requested on the check-out day, and only for one day at a time. Authorization for contract quarters will be provided at one of the local motels. Authorized duration of stay for PCS personnel is 30 days. Any extensions required over the original 30 days have to be presented to management in writing (Lodging has a locally devised form) and approval of such will depend on availability of guests’ authorized room type. Reimbursement for TLE is for 10 days ONLY, to include stays in both departing and arrival bases, if PCSing CONUS to CONUS. If PCSing overseas from CONUS, the reimbursement for your Lodging stay in CONUS will only be for 5 days. If PCSing to CONUS from overseas, the reimbursement for your Lodging stay in CONUS will be for 10 days. Check with your finance office for any changes that may have taken effect. The average price range for contract quarters is $60-$88 per night. Contract quarters have NO cooking facilities, but many restaurants are located nearby. Single Members Check In
Single members will be housed in a VQ type room after checking in at Lodging’s front desk, building 883, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If base lodging is not available, the information in the following paragraph also applies to single members. We do not provide dorm rooms at any time.
Availability
The base offers accommodations for families and single members. A facility for 50 families is available with kitchen units (Temporary Lodging Facility), several of them being pet-friendly. If on base lodging is not available, and the member is on PCS status with a family, he/she will get a "Non-Availability" (NA) letter. If the member is PCS and unaccompanied, he/she will receive commercial lodging. In either instance, the member will receive a return reservation date for on-base accommodations at the earliest date possible. If on TDY status and on base accommodations are not available, you may elect a Non-Availability letter or commercial quarters will be provided at one of the local hotels in conjunction with a return reservation date for on base accommodations at the earliest date possible. Usually commercial quarters do not provide cooking facilities, but restaurants are located nearby.

Check In/Check Out for Base Lodging
Normal check-in time is 2:00 p.m. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m. Late check-outs will be charged as an additional night's stay. Students need to review class schedules to ensure that they will be out of class prior to check-out time, or check-out before going to class. If a guest who has paid by cash checks out early and is due a refund, he/she will be refunded up to two days charges (if funds are available). If funds are not available, the guest will be ask to fill out an electronic refund request form, requiring the guest’s financial institution routing number. If a check payment was made, the transaction must be more than five days old for a cash refund to be authorized (if funds are available). If not, an electronic refund request form will be needed. Full refunds will be done immediately at checkout for credit card payments by processing a "credit" to the same credit card payment was made with. Guests must submit a valid credit card number to hold a room past 6:00 p.m.
Payment
We accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and USAF Services Proprietary Cards for payment. Check payments are for the exact amount due for lodging fees and charges only. For check-cashing services, please contact the bank, base-exchange or base club. All guests, whether Priority 1 or Space-available must pay in advance regardless of payment method. Priority 1 guests, with valid credit card on file, must make payments on the room every 15 days. Any stay of 14 nights or less must be paid in full at time of check-in.
Amenities/Facilities Information
Assorted sundries are available at the front desk counter. Guests must be of legal age to purchase alcoholic beverages (21 years old). Our Business Suites are stocked daily with assorted snacks, beverages and liquor. There are price listings in all Business Suites. Laundry rooms are located on the first floor at no cost. Only authorized guests may use the rooms. There are vending machines for detergents. Ice machines are located on each floor. Wake-up service is available 24 hours a day. Every room is equipped with clock radio, microwave, coffee maker, television, phone, refrigerator, Wi-Fi, safe, and ironing board and iron. There is an electronic guest directory available at rockinattherock.com with base and local area information along with phone numbers and lodging policies. Bike racks are available. Bikes are not allowed in any Lodging building or room at any time. Lost-and-found items are held for 30 days and then disposed of according to applicable directives. Boats, trailers, and oversized vehicles are not to be parked in lodging lots overnight. Contact Outdoor Recreation at 501-987-3365/6766 for storage of vehicles. All lodging facilities are non-smoking. If evidence of smoking is found in the room, a $150.00 cleaning fee will be assessed.
Pets<
We also have several pet-friendly TLF units with a pet fee of $10.00 per night/per unit, limit two pets per unit (cats and/or dogs only). Proof of rabies shots, as a minimum, ARE required prior to check-in. Evidence of additional shots may be required. Any indication of pets being housed in a non pet-friendly room will consequently result in an additional charge of $150.00 cleaning fee.
