Policies and rules for shipping pets vary at each installation. It’s important to understand the regulations, prohibitions and laws at your new installation before moving with a pet. Below, you’ll find installation-specific details for registering, boarding and transporting your pet.
Personnel residing on Little Rock Air Force Base must have pets licensed by the U.S. Army Veterinary Clinic, Building 648. Personnel living off base must have pets licensed by the respective city where they reside.
There are no quarantines for the state of Arkansas.
Staffordshire Bull Terriers, American Pit Bull Terriers and American Bull Dogs or any mixed breed thereof are banned from the city of Jacksonville and many of the cities surrounding Little Rock AFB. It is against the law to own a dog of these breeds.
Contact your Traffic Management Office for information on shipping pets by air, overseas, etc. Once you have decided that an animal is going to be your traveling companion, plan for your pet's trip in the same way you plan your own - well in advance.
Remember, it is a good idea to make advanced reservations for pet boarding as soon as you know your arrival date. This is another area where your sponsor can be of assistance.
