When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
If you arrive after duty hours check in at the Fighter Country Inn, Bldg 660.
If you arrive during duty hours, check in at your Unit Personnel Office (UPO) to begin squadron inprocessing. Report in uniform. As well as checking in with unit, it is mandatory to initiate base inprocessing. Go to the MPS located on the first floor of Bldg 1150. MPS will schedule members for mandatory Wing Orientation. Member must also attend Medical Right Start at the medical clinic held every Tuesday at 0900. After you have done your initial inprocessing, you will be given permissive TDY for house-hunting (if eligible). It is extremely important that you do this! Otherwise you will be charged with regular leave, which may not have been necessary for you to take. If you arrive after duty hours, report to your UPO the following duty day.
TDY and PCS Students
Report to the Fighter Country Inn, Bldg 660, for inprocessing instructions.
In processing is accomplished every other Monday from 8:00 - 1000 a.m. in the Civilian Personnel Office, Bldg 1150, Room 1163.
Temporary Lodging Reservations
The Fighter Country Inn handles all temporary lodging needs for Luke AFB. Lodging is open 24 hours a day and consists of Visiting Quarters, Distinguished Visitor Suites, and Temporary Lodging Facilities. Space can fill up quickly so it is suggested you make your reservations as soon as possible. You will need a copy of your orders and know your arrival date. Your sponsor can also make your reservations for you, with a copy of your orders.
Families arriving PCS may stay in one of the Temporary Lodging Facilities for up to 30 days, space permitting. Some of the units are pet friendly and guests utilizing these quarters incur a pet fee that is applied to their account daily. Guests must abide by the Air Force Lodging Pet policy and provide proof for all vaccinations at the time of check-in. Guests are limited to 2 pets per unit. Pets are prohibited in all other units. If a pet friendly unit is not available, guests will need to kennel their pets. Pet friendly TLFs can be reserved at any time. Please check with the Airman and Family Readiness Flight or the Fighter Country Inn for a list of boarding kennels in the local area.
PCS Single Airmen arriving after duty hours or on weekends are checked into hospitality quarters until the first duty day when they are then assigned to their squadron dormitory.
If you get married before you PCS, you must inform your commander and follow the procedures exactly as you are given them. The military will not pay for travel and housing of your spouse if you do not follow proper procedures. Contact MPS at 312-856-7875 for appropriate documentation required to grant your new spouse an ID card or enrollment in DEERS.
