If you’ve ever considered taking your education a step further, you should look to your installation for more information and assistance. They can help you decide if receiving an advanced degree is right for you, tell you which local colleges and classes are offered and find out if you’re eligible for tuition assistance. The Voluntary Education Center, or Installation Education Center, is available to help you put together a plan to advance your education.
Military spouses can also choose to engage with an education and career coach through the DoD’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, or SECO. These coaches can assist them in exploring multiple tools, resources and information to reach their educational goals. On Station Education
The Education Office, located in building 5305, offers information on a variety of educational and training programs. Professional, technical, and college degree programs are available through National University and Miramar Colleges.
The accreditation status of these schools can be provided on request. Service members may receive tuition assistance up to $4,500 at the undergraduate level or graduate level per fiscal year.

Military family members can requests a non resident waiver form on all local universities and colleges. It is suggested that people call the Education Office to learn more about California universities prior to attempting to contact the schools directly.

Adult/Continuing Education
More than 50 business and vocational schools are located in San Diego County. Area schools and colleges, as well as programs affiliated with the Education Office offers continuing education opportunities to enhance personal growth and career development.
