You may be expecting your first baby or busy with a toddler. That probably means you have your hands full, and may have questions. Thankfully, help is at hand.
The New Parent Support Program is a free service that helps military parents, including expectant parents, transition successfully into parenthood and provide a nurturing environment for their children. Services vary, but may include home visits, parenting classes, playgroups or prenatal classes.
The New Parent Support Program is a team made up of nurses, social workers and home visitation specialists who offer support and guidance by helping parents:

New Parent Support Program staff are child development professionals, including registered nurses, clinical social workers, and para-professionals trained in the delivery and practice of established home visiting models. The program is supervised and monitored at the installation level by the Family Advocacy program manager.
The program is available to military families who are expecting a baby or have children age 3 or younger. Marine Corps eligibility includes families with at least one child under 5.

The New Parent Support Program
The New Parent Support Program (NPSP) is a professional team of supportive and caring social workers, counselors, and registered nurses who provide education and support to Marine families who are expecting or raising children aged 0 -5 years old. The NPSP is designed to provide reliable information and resources for moms and dads promoting positive parent-child connections. We offer free home visitations, classes, and groups tailored to meet the interests, needs and unique chanellenges of military families.
Who is eligible for services?
All active-duty personnel and family members who are expecting a child or have at least one child under the age of 6 are eligible.
Services offered:
Home Visitation: Individualized parent support and education for expecting parents and children 0-5. Our individually tailored services can take place in the comfort of a parent's home or our office. If needed, telehealth visits may be arranged. Services include, but are not limited to:
Baby Boot Camp
A fun and dynamic class for expectant parents addressing important topics about parenthood and the first three months at home with your newborn. Topics such as diapering, newborn care, soothing and calming baby, supporting growth and development, attachment and bonding, safe sleep, postpartum emotions, and more are covered. Play Group
Provides families with children newborn-18 months (older siblings welcome), a place to play and interact with other families and children outside the home. Parents are able to gain support and community from others in the group while creating a closer bond with their child. Please call for dates and location, 858-307-9812
Infant Massage Class
Free 5 week class for parents & caregivers with infants from 4 weeks to 3 months of age. Infant massage is a wonderful and nurturing way to connect, communicate and bond with your infant. Please call for dates and location, 858-307-9812
