If you’ve ever considered taking your education a step further, you should look to your installation for more information and assistance. They can help you decide if receiving an advanced degree is right for you, tell you which local colleges and classes are offered and find out if you’re eligible for tuition assistance. The Voluntary Education Center, or Installation Education Center, is available to help you put together a plan to advance your education.
Military spouses can also choose to engage with an education and career coach through the DoD’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, or SECO. These coaches can assist them in exploring multiple tools, resources and information to reach their educational goals. Maxwell Education and Training Services Section is located in the Professional Development Center, Bldg. 501. Education Services is the focal point for the Air Force Voluntary Education Program. The program supports off-duty Voluntary Education goals for Regular Air Force, Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserve Airmen, as well as DoD Civilian employees and military dependents. Education Specialists knowledgeable in higher education work directly with Airmen in developing their academic programs and advising them on financial aid, academic programs, and Air Force Specific programs like the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF).
In addition, the Education Program provides testing opportunities for both academic testing as well as professional military education testing. A National Testing Center is located within the Professional Development Center to provide on-line testing for the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) and DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST). The Maxwell Education and Training Services Team's overall mission continue to be providing cost-effective, quality education and training programs that support the United States Air Force's recruitment, retention and readiness programs while aiding Airmen in reaching their professional and personal development goals.
