Deployment can be a challenging phase of the military lifecycle, but it’s important to know that you don’t have to go through it alone. The military provides a variety of resources and support programs — ranging from educational briefings to morale calls — for your loved ones, children and service members to ease the stress of deployment. Military members may be assigned to a specific installation but support may come from local communities, Yellow Ribbon events or the installation itself.
The Military and Family Readiness Center provides mobility and deployment assistance to members and their families to meet pre-deployment, deployment support and post-deployment challenges. The M&FRC provides the following services to help prepare members and families to successfully manage separation and reintegration.
Pre-Deployment
Individual and family pre-deployment briefings are held on a walk-in basis, Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the M&FRC Readiness Specialist Office. Some services and activities include:
Support for Families
The M&FRC staff makes regular monthly phone calls to each family and contacts them about special quarterly events sponsored by Services and M&FRC.
Some events and activities include Breakfast with Santa, free tickets to the Alabama Shakespeare Festival for a variety of children's programs, a magic show and Operation Kids.
The M&FRC is located at 55 South Mitchell Street in Building 677 and can be reached by calling 334-953-2353 or DSN 312-493-2353.
