The Military and Family Support Center is one part of a larger network of agencies, programs, services, partnerships and individuals that supports your personal and family readiness. The larger system called the Military Family Readiness System is a web of support for you and your family. The Military and Family Support Center should be one of your first stops once you arrive at a new installation. The programs and services they offer are a key resource for you and your family.
The Federal Voting Assistance Program – FVAP.gov – ensures service members, their eligible family members and overseas citizens have the tools and resources to register to vote and request an absentee ballot, regardless of their state of residence. The Voting Assistance Guide is a reference guide for everything you need to know about absentee voting in all 50 states, the U.S. territories and the District of Columbia.

Transition Assistance/Employment Services
The Transition/Employment Team assists with career counseling, individual transition plans, self-assessments, educational opportunities, and resume reviews on a one-on-one basis. A three-day transition seminar, as well as numerous employment workshops are conducted. Job Fairs are held once a year and host approximately 100 employers. The Resource Center is equipped with four workstations that enable access to online resources for job searching, military skills conversion, relocation, financial planning, and educational opportunities.
Casualty Assistance Program
Casualty Services is the initial point of contact in the case of the death of a military member or retiree. The staff assists/advises in the application of all benefits.
Air Force Aid Society
The AFAS provides emergency financial assistance to active duty and retired military members in the Wichita area. In addition AFAS funds the following community enhancement programs for Air Force families.

Family Services
The following services are located in Building 732 in the Airman's Attic. Hours of operation are Mon/Wed/Fri 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Tues/Thurs 1 to 5 p.m. The Family Services coordinator can be reached at 316-759-3740.
Outreach Programs
Food Pantry - We can provide food vouchers to the commissary on an emergency basis. Open to all personnel assigned to McConnell AFB and their family members.
Volunteer Resource Program
The VRP program is the focal point for volunteers. The M&FRC acts as a clearinghouse for those interested in volunteering and maintains a listing of volunteer opportunities both on and off base. For McConnell volunteers, a Volunteer Incentive Program (McVIP) is a graduated benefit system based on monthly volunteer hours donated to organizations on base.
