Youth Services

The Youth Activities Program consists of many different programs to accommodate the military and DOD youth, ages K-18 years of age, with experienced staff that foster the social and environmental interaction, education, and creative talents of dependent youth at NAS JAX, both military and DOD civilians.

Youth must have a completed youth membership form on file and must present a membership card for admittance to all activities.

Youth Centers

The main Youth Center is located in building 2069 on Mustin Road. Following are some of the programs offered through youth activities:

• School Age Care (SAC) -- The Youth Activities Program consists of varied camps and after-school activities for youth ages kindergarten to 12 years.  Activities include indoor and outdoor recreational activities, arts and crafts, nature, multi-cultural activities, video games and computers.
• In addition to the School Age Care Program, the Youth Activities Center has a Teen Center for youth 12-18; the 12-year old must be in 7th grade.  The Teen Center is open during the school year from 3 -6 p.m.  During the summer months, the Teen Center is open from 1200-1800.  Of note, the Teen Center is a free program, not fee-based like the Child Development Center and SAC programs.  Teens must obtain a registration packet from the Youth Activities Center and have it completed by their parent and/or guardian to participate.  Teens operate under a self-release policy meaning they can enter and leave the center without parental pick-up.

Youth Sponsorship Program

Youth Sponsorship (grades 3-12) provides access to positive peer groups and social activities, helping military children feel connected at their new duty station. For Youth Sponsorship with School Age Care or Youth Programs, participants must be enrolled or a registered user.   Feel free to contact the Youth Activities Center at 904-778-9772 for more details on how to get a sponsor for your child.
