Youth Employment

There are many employment opportunities for youth 17 years and older in the areas of fast food services, retail sales and life guards. For assistance contact Fleet and Family Support Center, Family Employment Readiness Program, at 850-452-5990 ext.0.

Youth Center

The NAS Pensacola and Corry Station Youth Center offers comprehensive programs to satisfy the needs of young family members. Both are modern facilities offering; a gym, game room, computer lab, snack area, arts/crafts room and TV room. NAS Pensacola & located in Building 3690 on Moffet Road and Corry Station located in Building 4118 on Children's Lane, and are; available for use by authorized family members ages 5 (must be in Kindergarten) to 12 years.

School-Age Child Care is a daily program from 5:30am to 5:30pm to accommodate attendance before and after school for 9 area schools. Transportation to and from the listed schools to the Youth Center is available.

Participating Schools in the SAC program are:

Elementary Schools:

• Blue Angel Elementary
• Pleasant Grove Elementary
• Hellen Caro Elementary
• Myrtle Grove Elementary
• Navy Point Elementary-No longer provide transportation to this school.

Middle Schools:

• Jim Bailey Middle School (mornings and afternoons)

Additional programs include summer, winter and spring break camps; computer lab; instructional classes and Youth League. Special events such as lock-ins, fun runs, carnivals, dances, field trips and more are held periodically. Open recreation nights are open to all authorized dependents during the school year. Boys and Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) Programs are also available through the Youth Center.

• Summer Day Camp 850-458-6588 - ages 6-12 years of age
  • Fee is based on total family income and includes: field trips, snacks, T-shirt, breakfast & lunches
  • Eligibility: authorized military and DoD dependents
  • Activities: bowling, swimming, movies, arts/crafts, computer lab, field trips, & fitness programs

• Spring Break Camp 850-458-6488 - ages 6-12 years of age
  • Fee is based on total family income and includes field trips, breakfast, snacks, and lunches
  • Eligibility: authorized military and DoD dependents

• Fall Camp 850-458-6588 – ages 6-12 years of age
  • Fee is based on total family income.
  • Eligibility: authorized military and DoD dependents

• Winter Camp 850-458-6588 - ages 6-12 years of age
  • Fee is based on total family income and includes breakfast, lunch and snack
  • Eligibility: authorized military and DoD dependents
  • Activities: computer lab, arts/crafts, gym games, cooking classes, field trips, bowling

Boys and Girls Clubs of America Programs including Imagemakers Photography and Fine Arts Exhibit Contests, Fitness Authority, Job Ready Power Hour, Youth of the Year, Keystone Club, Torch Club, Project Learn and Smart Moves are also part of the curriculum.

Youth Sports

Youth sports are for authorized Military and DOD children.

The Youth Sports program offers:

• Spring and Fall Soccer ages 4-14 years
• Basketball ages 4-14 years
• Cheerleading ages 4-14 years
• Softball ages 6-14 years
• T-ball ages 4-5 years
• Flag Football ages 6-14 years

Teen Center

Corry Station offers a Teen Center for teens of authorized military and DoD children, ages 13-18 years of age. Corry Station Teen Center offers a variety of programs such as Anchored 4 life, a youth sponsorship program for incoming students, Keystone, Passport to Manhood, SMART Girls, as well as additional programs and activities which include:

• Field trips
• Beach pool parties
• Dances
• Shopping trips
• Paintball
• Talent shows
• Wii tournaments

Youth Sponsorship/Youth Religious Programs/Scouts

NAS Pensacola offers a Youth Sponsorship Program, for information call 850- 712-4105. NAS Pensacola does not offer a Scout Program, on-board NAS Pensacola. For information contact the Youth Center, at 850-458-6588 or email: pcolaschoolliaison@us.navy.mil

The only Youth Religious Programs available on-board NAS Pensacola is through the NAS Pensacola Chapel. Protestant Youth Religious Programs consist of Sunday School and Catholic Youth Religious Programs consist of Youth Choir, CCD, and Youth Group.
