NAS Pensacola Fleet and Family Support Center emphasizes disaster readiness for service members and families
PENSACOLA, Fla. — With the Gulf Coast region susceptible to both natural and manmade catastrophic events, the Naval Air Station Pensacola Fleet and Family Support Center takes proactive steps to ensure Department of War personnel and their families remain fully prepared.
To bolster readiness, the FFSC provides comprehensive command briefs, available in both virtual and in-person formats. These instructional sessions are explicitly designed to equip service members and their authorized family members with the knowledge and resources necessary to navigate potential local crises.
Should a disaster strike the greater Pensacola area, the FFSC is poised to immediately activate an Emergency Family Assistance Center.
Designed as a centralized recovery hub, the EFAC will provide a full spectrum of support for displaced or affected personnel. Services provided at the EFAC include access to critical emergency resources, localized assistance, and logistical guidance during authorized departures.
Furthermore, base officials are stressing the critical importance of personnel accountability before an emergency occurs. Upon arriving at any command at NAS Pensacola or Corry Station, service members are required to register themselves and their families in their branch's respective personnel accountability system.
Mandatory service accountability systems
Commanders rely on these databases to rapidly assess, manage, and monitor the recovery process for personnel who may be affected or scattered by a widespread emergency. Ensuring profiles are updated upon arrival guarantees that leadership can account for all families during a crisis.
For more information on disaster preparedness, or to request FFSC assistance, personnel are encouraged to contact the NAS Pensacola Fleet and Family Support Center directly at 850-452-5990, ext. 0.
