If you’ve ever considered taking your education a step further, you should look to your installation for more information and assistance. They can help you decide if receiving an advanced degree is right for you, tell you which local colleges and classes are offered and find out if you’re eligible for tuition assistance. The Voluntary Education Center, or Installation Education Center, is available to help you put together a plan to advance your education.
Military spouses can also choose to engage with an education and career coach through the DoD’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, or SECO. These coaches can assist them in exploring multiple tools, resources and information to reach their educational goals. NAS Pensacola does not have any adult education enrichment classes offered at this time.
Virtual Education Center (VEC – a.k.a. Navy College)
The NAS Pensacola VEC provides voluntary educational opportunities that support and enhance education, training and career development.
Civilian education counselors are available to assist active duty personnel with SMART (Sailor/Marine American Council on Education Registry Transcript) Transcripts, DANTES (Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support) Testing and Navy Tuition Assistance.

No colleges are offered through the NAS Pensacola Fleet and Family Support Center, all available college programs are offered through the NAS Pensacola Virtual Education Center.
Tuition Assistance (TA) is the Navy's educational financial assistance program. It provides active duty personnel funding for tuition costs for courses taken in an off-duty status at a college, university or vocational/technical institution, whose regional or national accreditation is recognized by the Department of Education. Navy TA pays for both classroom and independent study/distance learning courses, regardless of course length. Courses must be offered in Semester Hours, Quarter Hours, or Clock Hours. The credit earned must show on the institution's transcript.
All Navy Tuition Assistance pays up-front the tuition and fees charged by educational institutions for course enrollments. Navy TA pays 100% of tuition costs for courses applicable to the completion of a high school diploma or equivalency certificate. For other education levels, there is a fiscal year credit limit of 16 Semester Hours, 24 Quarter Hours, or 240 Clock Hours per individual. (Waiver requests cannot exceed the FY $45000 DoD program limit.)

TA is available to both Naval Officer and Enlisted active duty personnel and Naval Reservists on continuous active duty. It is also available to enlisted Naval Reservists ordered to active duty 120 days and to Naval Reservists Officers ordered to active duty for 2 years or more. To qualify, service members must:

NAS Pensacola TA Workshops are usually conducted on Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. Submit TA applications early. A minimum of 3 business days is required for processing. Only the current TA Application (NETPDTC 1560/3 Rev. 09/07) is accepted. For additional information and confirmation on workshops contact the NCO.

My Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) is a workforce development program that provides up to $4,000 of tuition assistance to eligible military spouses who are pursuing a license, certification or associate degree in a portable career field and occupation that can transfer with you to the next duty station of your military member.
