With certain military moves, you may find yourself looking for housing that’s a little less permanent before making long-term arrangements. There are several temporary housing options that may be right for you. Explore the information about temporary housing facilities including allowances, lodging rates and eligibility.
There is no Navy Lodge at NAS Whiting Field. Most incoming personnel and their families stay at the Gateway Inns & Suites. A number of rooms are set up as suites to handle incoming military members and their needs.
Navy Gateway Inns & Suites is centrally located. The Navy Exchange, Commissary, and new state-of-art gymnasium are all within easy walking distance of the complex. The running track, sports fields, Olympic-sized lap pool and Airdales recreation center with video games, movie room and indoor play area are also nearby. All six primary and advanced training squadrons, the simulator buildings, and both flight lines, as well as the Academic Training building with Computer labs and Cockpit Procedures Trainers, are quickly and easily accessible on foot.

If you are traveling with your family, limited temporary quarters are available at reasonable rates. Reservations are advised. The facilities offer family suites are completely furnished two bedroom suites. There are a limited number of rooms that are pet friendly. Additional lodging is available within a short driving distance to NAS Whiting Field, but personnel are cautioned that motels can be expensive during the summer months due to tourism.
