The Military and Family Support Center is one part of a larger network of agencies, programs, services, partnerships and individuals that supports your personal and family readiness. The larger system called the Military Family Readiness System is a web of support for you and your family. The Military and Family Support Center should be one of your first stops once you arrive at a new installation. The programs and services they offer are a key resource for you and your family.

Confidential Counseling
Our licensed counselors provide individual, family, children and marriage counseling at both sites. Contact FFSC at 805-982-5037 for appointments or referrals to other free individual and family counseling options available through partner resources and TRICARE.
Exceptional Family Member Program Support
EFMP enrollment can be time-consuming and stressful. Save yourself time and stress by contacting the FFSC EFMP coordinator for the latest forms and resources for families supporting loved ones with special needs.
The New Parent Support Home Visitation Program is a free support service program designed to meet the needs of expectant active-duty military personnel, their spouses and those families with children under the age of 4. The program was created to provide prenatal and parenting skills education to active-duty service members and their families. The primary goal of this program is to enhance family quality of life by empowering families to meet the challenges of parenthood while maintaining a military lifestyle.
Sexual Assault Prevention and Response
The SAPR program promotes proactive awareness and prevention through education and awareness. If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, call the 24/7 Crisis Response hotline at 805-218-9370 or the Department of Defense Safety helpline at 877-995-5247. Family Advocacy Program Victim Advocate
The FAP victim advocate is the position that provides victim advocacy services. Services include victim and military community education on domestic violence, restricted and unrestricted reporting options, safety assessment and planning, information to victims on available benefits and services, referrals to military and civilian victim assistance services or individual/group support programs. The FAP victim advocate serves as a supportive resource, advocates for the expressed interests of victims and provides additional specialized services such as assistance with obtaining protective orders, providing immediate shelter in one of NBVC's Safe Houses and accompanying the victim to court proceedings. Advocates can make community referrals for any services not available at the FFSC, such as domestic violence shelters, family law court, legal assistance and victims assistance programs.
