Learn more about the different options, benefits and discounts that may be available to you through government housing.
Availability
Naval Construction Battalion Center Gulfport has housing units in seven different areas. There are two off-base locations, one located in Slidell, LA, supporting Stennis Space Center and Coast Guard units from New Orleans, and the other is approximately 15 miles from base.
The Housing Service Center will provide assistance to military members and their dependents in finding suitable and affordable housing in the community through HOMES.mil
Application
Service members must apply for on-base housing prior to arrival at Gulfport or within 30 days of reporting for duty to be eligible for a government-paid local move from the community to on-base family housing.
If the military member will be unavailable to complete a housing application, a special power of attorney will be required from the spouse. A power of attorney form can be obtained from Navy Legal Service Office.
Control date on the waiting list is determined by the date of detachment from the prior duty station before transferring to CBC Gulfport, but the service member must apply no later than 30 days from report date to new command in order to use the detachment date.
Waiting List
Estimated wait times for Family Housing vary depending on a service member’s rank and fluctuate during PCS Season.
It is the service member’s responsibility to update information that may have changed to avoid removal from the waiting list.
To qualify for participation in the Rental Partnership Program, military member must submit copy of PCS orders and current leave and earnings statement. Single military personnel E1 to E4, without dependents, must provide a request chit giving authority to reside in the community.
