Deployment can be a challenging phase of the military lifecycle, but it’s important to know that you don’t have to go through it alone. The military provides a variety of resources and support programs — ranging from educational briefings to morale calls — for your loved ones, children and service members to ease the stress of deployment. Military members may be assigned to a specific installation but support may come from local communities, Yellow Ribbon events or the installation itself.
The Fleet and Family Support Center knows that deployment preparation is a key factor in making deployment less stressful for the military member and for the families. It can be particularly challenging if you are not familiar with the process and do not know how to find assistance and resources need to cope. Along with your command, Fleet and Family Support Center is ready to offer the assistance you need. We see deployment readiness as one of our main focuses.
Mobilization
The Fleet and Family Support Center assist the Navy Mobilization Processing Site in mobilization and demobilization of activated reservists and Individual Augmentees. We mail packets of information to the families of these members.
Pre-Deployment
The Command will organize pre-deployment events in which Fleet and Family Support Center will assist by offering information that we feel will make the deployment cycle easy for the service member and the family.
Return and ReunionAs the service member prepares to return from deployment, Fleet and Family Support offers programs at the deployment site that include, Car Buying, Money Management, Returning to Intimacy, Returning to Children, New Parent/Single Parent Responsibility and programs tailored for the returning Single Sailor.
The Fleet and Family Support Center is available to speak at Family Readiness Groups to present much of the same information as it will apply to the at home members. Ombudsmen are updated and encouraged to offer families all resources available, support agencies and other programs available for children of deployed members.
