Child Care

RAF Alconbury CDC provides services for children 6 weeks to 5 years of age. Programs include full day care and hourly care.

Programs Offered 

RAF Alconbury CDC provides services for children 6 weeks to 5 years of age. Age groupings are: 6 weeks to 12 months, 12 months to 24 months, 24 months to 36 months and 36 months to five years.

Costs 

Fees for weekly care are established annually by DOD and are based on total family income. Current rate information is available at the Child Development office. Late charges will begin after a 10 minute grace period.  $2 per minute per child will be assessed.

Hourly Care

Hourly care is provided on a space available basis for the child’s age group. Reservations should be made 24 hours in advance.  Current cost is $8.00 per hour. Children must be registered prior to admission. 

Wait List

RAF Alconbury CDC is directed by AF regarding priority requests for enrollment when there are more requests than available slots and a wait list is established. You may enroll on the waitlist at www.militarychildcare.com .

Registration

Children must be registered prior to admission through MCC.com. All immunizations will be verified. Additional paperwork will be required and approved for any special needs, medical needs or allergies prior to the child being admitted for care.

The RAF Alconbury Youth Center offers a wide variety of programs for children of military, DOD civilians and DOD contactors in the local area.

Registration in CYPBMS and membership fee are required for entry. Open Recreation/Teen Program is for ages 9-18, with a fee of $30/month. Call

The Youth Center offers various programs and events as well as classes for Youth of all ages. The facility has a gym, Internet access, recreation room,playground, kitchen, and various entertainment play areas.

The Youth Center sponsors special lock-ins, movie/popcorn nights and other teen events and dances. In addition, in cooperation with Boys and Girls

Clubs of America and the Youth Center offers any special groups and activities. Some of the activities and programs offered include:

Power hour-helps club members ages 6-18 be more successful in school by providing homework help and tutoring and encouraging member to become self-directed learners. Cooking Club- promotes a healthy lifestyle by teaching youth about nutrition and how to evaluate portions when cooking for themselves vs their family.

National Fine Arts/Photography Exhibit Program-a year-round program with an annual contest to encourage girls and boys ages 6-18 to learn and practice black and white and color process photography and express themselves in creative and unusual ways.

Youth of the Year Premier Youth Recognition Program-promotes and celebrates club member's service to club, community and family: academic performance; spiritual values; life goals and poise and public speaking ability. During summer months Open Recreation/Teen programs offer fun and educational field trips. Examples: London Show, Escape rooms, Shakespeare festival, laser tag, Roller Skating, 4D movies, and more. Call or stop by the Youth Center to sign up for summer trips.

Youth Sports Programs - The Alconbury Spartans

Youth Sports

The Alconbury Spartans offer three main Youth Sports Leagues for ages 6-18 throughout the calendar year.  Basketball League (November - March); Outdoor Soccer (March - June); Flag Football (August - October). The Youth Sports Program also offers "Start Smart" for ages 3-5, where they explore sports such as Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, Football, and Indoor Soccer.  In addition to that, the sports program also offers specialty camps throughout the year. Please call the Youth Center for dates and times.

There is a School Age Program facilitated by the RAF Alconbury Youth Center that provides supervision for children ages 5 - 12 on school holidays and during the summer. In addition, there is a Before and After School program facilitated by the RAF Alconbury Youth Center that provides supervision for children ages 5 - 12 before and after school.

A Sure Start program for children aged four years old (before 31 August of current year) to Kindergarten is operated through the RAF Alconbury Elementary School.
