A wide range of programs are available for youth and teens, including youth sports and recreation programs, educational programs and programs that support leadership and career development. Please review the information to learn what programs and services are available at this installation.
RAF Alconbury Youth Center offers a wide variety of programs for children of military, DoD civilians and DoD contractors in the local area. The facility has a gym, computer room with Internet access, television/rec room with foosball, playground, kitchen, and various entertainment play areas. In addition, the Youth Center sponsors special lock-ins, movie/popcorn nights and other teen events and dances. Call 011-44-1480-843610 or DSN 314-268-3610.
Youth Center
The RAF Alconbury Youth Center offers a wide variety of programs for children of military, DoD civilians and DoD contractors in the local area. Registration in CYPBMS and membership fee of $30/month are required for entry.
The Youth Center offers various programs and events as well as classes for youth of all ages. The facility has a gym, computer room with Internet access, television/rec room with foosball and ping pong, playground, kitchen, and various entertainment play areas.
Responsible 9-year-olds and up may sign themselves in/out of the facility for open recreation times. Membership fee is required; please call for membership rates 011.44.1480843610 or DSN 314.268.3610.
The Youth Center sponsors special lock-ins, movie/popcorn nights and other teen events and dances. In addition, in cooperation with Boys and Girls Clubs of America, the Youth Center offers many special groups and activities. Some of the activities and programs offered include:
Power Hour -- helps club members ages 6-18 be more successful in school by providing homework help and tutoring and encouraging members to become self-directed learners.
Cooking Club -- promotes a healthy lifestyle by teaching youth about nutrition and how to evaluate portions when cooking for themselves vs their family.
National Photography Exhibit Program -- a year-round program with an annual contest to encourage girls and boys ages 6-18 to learn and practice black and white and color process photography and express themselves in creative and unusual ways.
Youth of the Year Premier Youth Recognition Program -- promotes and celebrates club members' service to club, community, and family; academic performance; spiritual values; life goals and poise and public speaking ability.
During the summer months Open Rec Programs offers fun and educational field trips. Examples: London Show, Escape rooms, Shakespeare festival, laser tag, Roller Skating, 4D Movies, and more. Call or stop by the Youth Center to sign up for summer trips.
Also during the summer months various specialty camps are offered for dance, theater, science, sports and fine arts. Please stop by for more information and sign up today.
School Age Program
The Youth Center programs provide an excellent School-Age Program with a separate activity room and large areas for building and construction and dramatic play. The program also uses the gym for games and sports. Field trips, swimming, arts and crafts and special events are available as part of the all day School-Age Care Program. A Summer Day Camp for 10 weeks during the summer months is offered as well.
Youth Sports Programs - The Alconbury Spartans
The Alconbury Spartans offer three main Youth Sports Leagues for ages 6-18 throughout the calendar year.
Basketball League (November - March); Outdoor Soccer (March - June); Flag Football (August - October).
The Youth Sports Program also offers "Start Smart" for ages 3-5, where they explore sports such as Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, Football, and Indoor Soccer.
In addition to that, the sports program also offers specialty camps throughout the year. Please call the Youth Center for dates and times.
