Child Care

Three Child Development Center on the installation includes full-day, preschool and hourly for children ages 6 weeks-5 years of age. CDC Phone: 309-782-2822.

The Family Child Care program provides quality childcare in a home setting for children between the ages of 4 weeks to 12 years of age.

The Child Development Center at Rock Island Arsenal is certified by the Department of Defense and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. There is currently a waiting list. Military, who are in need of childcare services are encouraged to visit MilitaryChildCare.com to be placed on the wait list.

Eligibility

Active-Duty Military, DOD Civilians and DOD Contractors are eligible to use the services.

Hours of Operation

The Center is open Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. until 5:15 p.m. and closed all Federal Holidays.

Programs Offered

The programs offered include full-day and hourly for children ages 6 weeks-5 years of age.

• Preschool Program - Children who are 3 to 5 years old are placed in the Preschool Program. The preschool age classrooms provide many opportunities to develop and learn through a variety of experiences, activities, and materials.
• Infant/Toddler Program - The infant and toddler program for children age from 6 weeks to 36 months and are placed in rooms according to age, development and space availability within the rooms.

Costs 

Fees for programs are based on DOD Guidance and are on a sliding fee scale based on total family income. Priority is DOD based and is filled by date of application for services. Respite care is offered through EFMP or Army Family Covenant.
