None on post. The Rock Island Arsenal is one community with many choices to enable residents to choose the school which best fits the unique needs of the family.  Children living on post may attend either the Moline or Rock Island school districts in Illinois, or the Davenport, Bettendorf, or Pleasant Valley school districts in Iowa.

The Rock Island Arsenal does not have a Department of Defense Dependent School on this installation.  Children living on post may attend either the Moline or Rock Island school districts in Illinois; or the Davenport, Bettendorf, or Pleasant Valley school districts in Iowa.

There are 19 school districts within a 25 mile radius of the installation. Arsenal Residents can enroll into Moline, Rock Island, Davenport, Bettendorf, or Pleasant Valley school districts without paying tuition. This does not apply to Service Members living off post. Children and youth living off post attend the school district in which they reside.  There is no open enrollment in the state of Illinois and limited open-enrollment in the estate of Iowa. Grading systems, graduation rates, achievement test scoring and pupil/teacher ratios may vary by school. For more information, contact the School Liaison Officer at 309-782-6515.

Catholic, Lutheran, Christian, Montessori, and College Prep Schools are available for children grades K-12 and are located in both Iowa and Illinois (10-20 minutes from the Arsenal).

Adults have the opportunity to pursue higher levels of education including high school, college, graduate school, technical, or trade school degrees.
