Contact information for key programs and services at this installation.
When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
Newly assigned members arriving during normal duty hours are required to report to their squadron commander's support staff first to get gained and their unit's in-processing checklist.
Newcomers must attend the first available Finance and Military Personnel Flight in-processing upon arrival. In-processing is held at 0845 (doors are locked at 0845) every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in Building 3010. You must bring your sealed packet from your last base, your Basic Allowance for Subsistence form (AF Form 220), all travel reciepts, PCS Orders and your duty information worksheet to this appointment. Your squadron commander's supprot staff can assist with ensuring you have all your reuired documents.
Be as prepared as you possibly can by making sure you have all your important papers with you. These documents include orders, identification cards, passports, powers of attorney, resumes, transcripts, travelers’ checks, etc.
Do not pack these documents in your household goods.
The Southern Pines Inn has 122 temporary lodging rooms; 66 of those rooms are designed to accommodate families. The facilities consist of one- and two-bedroom units and offer designated handicap rooms.
A limited number of pet-friendly rooms are available. Please refer to the Pet Friendly Policies and Procedures flyer in your sponsor package for details.
We highly encourage guests to make lodging arrangements well in advance to ensure availability. Make reservations by calling commercial 919-722-0385 or DSN 722-0385; call 011-312-722-0385 if calling from overseas or email us at 4fss.fsvl.lodgingreservations@us.af.mil
Lodging will place a guaranteed hold on rooms secured with a credit card until midnight on the reserved date, so it's very important to update reservations if your travel plans should change. If you are married and arrive after duty hours and either have or don’t have temporary lodging reservations, report to the Southern Pines Inn Lodging Office at 1235 Wright Brothers Ave.
Lodging will help arrange temporary lodging either on base, if available, or off base in a contract hotel. If arrival is after duty hours and you are a single E-1 through E-4 with less than three years of service and your sponsor did not meet you, the lodging office will make every effort to contact your sponsor or first sergeant. If that fails, they will call the CE service desk at 919-722-5139 to contact an airman dormitory leader. The ADL will take you to a dormitory hospitality room until your permanent dorm room is ready for assignment, usually the next duty day.
If you get married en route to your new duty station, you must inform your commander and follow the procedures exactly as you are given them. The military will not pay for travel and housing of your spouse if you do not follow proper procedures.
All airmen E-1 through E-4 with less than three years of service must report to the airman dormitory leaders office upon arrival on station. All first duty station airmen will be scheduled to attend the First Term Enlisted Course (FTEC) at the earliest possible date but no later than 45 calendar days after arriving at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. Airmen are scheduled for FTEC by their squadron commanders support staff, superintendent, or supervisor. Unit must ensure Airmen are not scheduled for other appointments while attending FTEC.
All airmen scheduled for FTEC must have computer access prior to arrival.
Airmen do not have to wait until attending FTEC to file travel vouchers; they will receive the finance briefing during base in-processing. Bring copies of your orders and any receipts.
