If you need emergency assistance, you can expect to get help from your installation, your branch of service resources. There are programs to support you in a variety of situations, including victim assistance, emergencies en route and service-specific relief societies. Below, you’ll find types of assistance, contact information, and detailed procedures and guidance to help you through any tough circumstances that you or your family may face.
A number of agencies and individuals on base are available to assist you during emergencies. Your first sergeant, commander and individual unit will preferably be your first points of contact during an emergency.
The Security Force Base Defense Operations Center is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 919-722-1212, or call the base command post at 919-722-0004.
For immediate emergency assistance, call the military police at 919-722-1212.
First of all, look for the nearest military installation. If there is no installation listed for the area then we suggest you call the American Automobile Association if you are a member. You can also ask the local information operator for a hospital or road service, depending on the emergency.
Be sure to contact your sponsor or your unit orderly room/first sergeant. If you do not have a sponsor or don’t know the phone number for your squadron, call the Military Personnel Section at 919-722-8686. They will coordinate with your gaining unit. If it is after duty hours, contact the command post at 919-722-0004 or DSN 312-722-004 and provide them with as much information as possible about the incident and your squadron.
Air Force Aid Society can assist you with any type of emergency financial need. You can apply online at https://afas.org or call the American Red Office at 877-272-7337 for assistance. The American Red Cross is available to assist in emergency situations, including the death of family members.
NOTE: All American Red Cross assistance will be a loan to starting out, once verified by Air Force Aid Society and if the loan meets the requirements, it may be converted to a grant.
