Tobyhanna Army Depot’s goal is to accommodate the Soldier and Family member with a high quality, safe and healthy home that fosters the development of a healthy supportive community.  We maintain a high-quality worldwide resource for relocation services that is innovative, comprehensive, and the first choice of information and support when Soldiers and Families relocate to include:

Non-discriminatory listings of adequate and affordable rental and for-sale housing Counseling/referral on eligible installation services.

Housing data exchange with other DoD housing offices.

Liaisons with Army Community Service in support of the Housing Relocation Assistance Program.

Housing market area data for use in developing market analyses Rental negotiations and lease review.

Landlord-tenant dispute resolution.

Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) data submission.

Property inspections.

The on post Military Housing Office is available Monday – Friday from 0600-1700 to assist you in finding a quality home or apartment in the local community.

Unaccompanied Personnel Housing & Transient Barracks

Barracks rooms are available for Permanent Party Personnel, E-5 and below, who receive Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) without dependents. All Permanent Party rooms are private individual furnished rooms and include; refrigerator and microwave, bedroom furniture, individual bathroom, complimentary cable and internet and individual seating area.

Transient barracks rooms consist of: typical 1+1 design with a shared bathroom, Open bays or Single rooms with shared bathrooms/individual bathrooms.

Barracks amenities include; complimentary internet and cable multiple full kitchens, lounge areas with flat screen TVs and DVD players, game room, exercise room. Multiple complimentary laundry rooms and multiple conference areas.

The Pocono Mountains Region is a vacation and resort area. Off-post housing and apartment rentals are expensive and availability is limited in the immediate area. Begin your home search as soon as possible. Apartment and home listings can be found online at the local newspaper websites.

Housing Referral Office

The Housing Referral Office is your contact for any problems you may encounter such as discrimination complaints, tenant/landlord disputes or any questions or problems about off-post housing. The HRO will provide you a list of rentals with corresponding locator maps and give you information regarding the communities in which the rentals are located.
