When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. All newly arriving Active-Duty Army Service Members will report to their unit of assignment first. WSMR does not have a reception center.
The SMs Orderly Room/S1/G1 will notify the Military Personnel Division (MPD) of the SM arrival. SM will then in-process with the MPD located in Building 465 Room 143 the first Tuesday from 8 a.m. -10 a.m. following arrival to WSMR.
Should you encounter any difficulties or have any questions upon your arrival, you should first reach out to your unit assigned sponsor followed by the unit specific orderly room.

Soldiers that PCS to White Sands Missile Range can request sponsorship assistance through their local Military Personnel Division or reach out to the gaining installation MPD by contacting the In and Out Processing Office at 575-678-7645/5891.
Installation Newcomer & Spouse Orientation with Bus Tour takes place every six weeks on the third Wednesday of the designated month at Army Community Service, Building 250 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Newcomer Briefing is mandatory for all military personnel. Civilians, contractors and spouses are highly encouraged to attend this interactive experience.
