When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. All newly arriving Active-Duty Army Service Members will report to their unit of assignment first. WSMR does not have a reception center.
The SMs Orderly Room/S1/G1 will notify the Military Personnel Division (MPD) of the SM arrival. SM will then inprocess with the MPD located in Building 465 Room 143 the first Tuesday from 0800-1000 following arrival to WSMR.
Should you encounter any difficulties or have any questions upon your arrival, you should first reach out to your unit assigned sponsor followed by the unit specific orderly room.

Installation Newcomer & Spouse Orientation with Bus/Walking Tour is held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month Army Community Service (ACS), Building 250 from 8 a.m. to noon. The Newcomer Briefing is mandatory for all military personnel. Civilians, Contractors, and Spouses are highly encouraged to attend this interactive experience.
