Behavioral Health
McAfee provides Behavioral Health services here at White Sands. Our BH staff work closely with the primary care team to ensure all needs are addressed.
Initial appointments consist of a 15 minute screening on a computer, followed by 30 to 60 minutes with a provider. The computer screenings allow the provider to focus on the areas that are of primary concern to you during your appointment, limiting extraneous questions.
We always strive to respect the privacy of all our patients. There are times, however, where a BH provider may need to alert other team members to ensure that patients are safeguarded in times of distress.

Secure Messaging
TOLSecureMessaging is a secure message management service that is used to support Army PCMH. One of the tenets of PCMH is to provide the patient an alternate way to communicate with the Medical Home to avoid unnecessary trips to the clinic for administrative issues or to obtain information. TOLSecureMessaging has a secure server that allows confidential information to be exchanged between a patient and their PCM without fear of interception by unintended recipients.
TOLSecureMessaging offers much more than just a way to message your Medical Home. It is also a way to request appointments and medication renewals, ask questions of either the Medical Home Nurse or PCM, and to receive reminders of future appointments or scheduled testing. Enrollees have access to information specific to their interest or condition—there are approximately 5000 patient information handouts available to search at leisure. It is also a way for the Medical Home to send important information to the patient population (such as when flu immunizations are available or to announce dates when the clinic is closed).
To Enroll in TOLSecureMessaging, ask the front desk or screening nurse when you come in for a visit, or go to www.TOLSecureMessaging.com from your home computer and ask to enroll. In order to enroll you will need an e-mail address, the name of your PCM and Medical Home. After you are enrolled, the team at TOLSecureMessaging will contact you to obtain permission from you to activate your account. After that you can use the service as often as you’d like and there is no cost to you. Ask the clinic staff if you have questions.

When you move, TRICARE moves with you. No matter where you go in the world, TRICARE is there before, during and when you get to your next duty station.
There are steps you need to take to make sure changes to your TRICARE coverage go smoothly. Understand that when you move, you may have to use a different TRICARE option. Visit TRICARE Moving to learn more.
Before you move, you should take care of any routine medical needs, including immunizations, and fill your prescriptions so you have enough while traveling. If you need care during your move, visit TRICARE Getting Care When Traveling to learn what to do.
Filling prescriptions while traveling
You should refill prescriptions before traveling. But if you run out of a prescription drug while traveling, visit TRICARE Filling Prescriptions When Traveling.
Getting dental care while traveling
Getting dental care while traveling depends on your location and whether you are a service member or family member.
With permanent change of station orders, ask for a copy of your medical and dental records from your military treatment facility and the dental treatment facility. Do this at least one month before your PCS date. The MTF should also transfer a copy of your record and any family records to your new duty station or you may be able to hand carry them to your new duty station.
If you want someone else to be able to get medical or dental information on you or your family while you are moving, you need to complete a DD Form 2870, "Authorization for Disclosure of Medical or Dental Information."
For more information on getting copies of medical records, visit TRICARE Request Copies of Medical Records.
