We are located at Building 250, Rock Island Avenue. Our team is excited to meet you and your families and assist in making your transition to the White Sands Community easier.
White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico (WSMR) is a remote installation. WSMR is located approximately 27 miles from Las Cruces, 51 miles from Alamogordo, and 70 miles from El Paso. On-Post housing is available for Active Duty, Retirees, DOD Civilians, Contractors and Community Civilians with a background check. ACS offers many programs such as Employment, Volunteering, Exceptional Family Members (EFMP), Family Advocacy (FAP), Financial Readiness/AER, Newcomers, Lending Closet and so much more!
CHECK THIS OUT - Newcomers Orientation is held on the third Wednesday of each month, here at Army Community Service (ACS). Check-In time for orientation begins at 0730 and the briefing begins at 0800. Attendance is mandatory for Service Members and highly encouraged for Civilians and Contractors. Adult family members are welcome to attend. The morning portion of Newcomers runs until approximately 12 Noon, at which time the attendees are released for a 1-hour lunch (on their own). The afternoon portion of orientation consists of an interative bus tour around the installation. The bus tour provides Newcomers an opportunity to see the facilities learned about during the morning brief, and includes a walking tour of some facilities.
