When planning for a move with the military, you might consider moving into government housing. Government housing is owned and maintained by the Department of War and is typically on the installation. Eligibility and availability for this type of housing may vary by service member, family size and installation. Privatized Housing
Government housing at U.S. Army Garrison White Sands Missile Range has been privatized and is managed by Balfour Beatty Communities, a limited liability corporation that has entered into the Army's privatization initiative.
Before you transfer to WSMR, contact the White Sands Homes Office at 575-674-2463 for further information. You will be placed on a waitlist for your grade and family composition. Once assigned a home, you will receive a confirmation letter showing the address and the move-in date.

Rental Options Terms and Conditions
On the day of move-in, you will be given a housing orientation at the home assigned. This will consist of an explanation of the tenant bill of rights, tenant responsibilities and instructions on placing service requests.
A Community Management Representative will accompany the residents at their home, complete the Property Condition Report, provide instructions specific to the home and answer any questions the resident may have.

Single soldiers, ranging from private (E1) to sergeant (E5), will be assigned a barracks room. If you arrive outside of normal duty hours, contact your unit representative to arrange accommodation upon your arrival.
