Use this tool to help you learn more about a community or to compare two communities. You can get information on schools, home values, weather, population and more.
USAG Benelux-Brunssum provides Army base operation services to joint and inter-agency communities in support of U.S. interests in NATO, throughout the Netherlands, and in northern Germany. Basic community support for the region is provided by the USAG Benelux-Brunssum, while many of the Soldier support services are provided by military (Army and Air Force) personnel at JFC Brunssum and Geilenkirchen NATO Air Base.
Pets -- There are several dogs that come under the dangerous dog law and they are not permitted to be bought into country.
Passports/Visas -- Service members and civilians assigned to The Netherlands who have non US or non EU spouses must check with their servicing personnel office and the State Department regarding visa or other entry requirements. Brunssum requires a document known as a Type C Visa for citizens of certain countries. Failure to comply with visa requirements can prevent a family member from entering or residing in The Netherlands. It can also result in denial of important overseas privileges such as tax-exemption, access to tax-free shopping facilities, and employment rights.
Defense Service Network (DSN) Dialing Instructions
The DSN is the provider of long-distance communications service for the Department of Defense (DoD). Every installation has a special DSN number and the numbers vary by world-wide location. In order to place a call using DSN, the caller must be using a military phone on an installation. Cell phones cannot dial DSN numbers. When dialing a DSN number from a United States installation to another United States installation, it is unnecessary to dial the DSN 312 area code. When dialing a DSN number to/from overseas locations, the DSN area code must be included. Please note that long distance charges may be incurred.
