Library programs differ by branch of service. You may have access to things like tutoring, educational courses, online programs and a variety of print and electronic materials. Hours, contact information and closings can be found here or by calling your installation’s library.
Get to know the Army general libraries. You will find something for soldiers and families in all locations and military stages. There are 62 libraries across seven countries with physical collections in all formats. They support professional, educational and recreational reading.
Installation libraries play an important role for soldiers. They offer technical publications to support job requirements and career development. Soldiers can earn college degrees and certifications, update promotion packages, prepare for transition or retirement and more. Computers are available for completing training or personal education.
These libraries are also a “community couch” with programming, study and meeting spaces. There is something for everyone, including book clubs, story times and walks, game and movie nights. A themed summer reading program provides family fun. Evening and weekend hours accommodate busy schedules.
Makerspaces are now available in many Army libraries. All ages can explore and enjoy science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics.
Soldiers and their dependents who are deployed or in remote locations can use the Army MWR Library Online. It offers a wide variety of electronic databases and downloadable content. All Defense Department service members and their families can also use the online DOD MWR Libraries. The libraries have a wide range of online resources for children and adults. Army MWR Libraries support a worldwide network of Soldiers, Families, Veterans, and DOD Civilians. MWR Libraries have something for everyone – story hours, book discussion groups, gaming nights, movie nights, teen programs, internet access, computer labs with word processing and access to readiness training. Online resources include military training, investment tools, educational resources to write that perfect college paper or get tutor help, transition resources, auto repair resources, latest best-sellers as an e-book or audio book, interactive e-books for children, magazines, and newspapers are all available 24/7. Librarians are available to help you find answers, and can also help point you to the best source to find what you need.

At home, deployed, and in remote locations, MWR Library services and resources support Soldiers, Family members, veterans, and DOD civilians. For more information or assistance, contact the Army MWR Library Program.
For Deployed Soldiers
Family and MWR Libraries also support deployed Soldiers in remote locations through monthly deliveries of paperback book kits and Playaways, small MP3 players containing an audio book. The Department of Defense makes library resources accessible to the military community wherever members serve through installation libraries and the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Digital Library. The Libraries and Information Services program is classified as mission sustaining (Category A) and is supported almost entirely with appropriated funds. The Libraries and Information Services program does not generally include libraries with the primary purpose of providing technical reference and information related to training centers, military occupational specialty education or Department of Defense scientific facilities.

Eligibility
Unlimited use of Morale, Welfare and Recreation programs and services is authorized to active-duty service members (Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard) and their families, reserves (Individual Ready Reserve, National Guard, reservists in training) and their families, cadets of service academies and U.S. Merchant Marine and their families, active-duty commissioned corps of the Public Health Service and commissioned corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, retirees from active duty and reserves and their families, honorably-discharged veterans with 100 percent disability and involuntarily-separated service members under the Transition Assistance Management Program and their families, Medal of Honor recipients and their families, Department of Defense and Coast Guard civilians stationed outside the United States and their families, unremarried surviving spouses and orphans of personnel who died on active duty or in retired status, and unremarried former spouses who were married to the service member for 20 years during active duty.
The JFC Brunssum Library offers more than books! Customers can borrow books,
CDs, DVDs, video games, board games, magazines and language courses.
Next to English, the Library also has German , Dutch, French and Spanish sections. The library offers a an enormous digital collection online.
E.g. Mango Language Courses, hundreds of magazines, Universal Classes, Music concerts and much more.
The JFC Brunssum Library is a lively hub with free WIFI, Internet PCs and a coffee corner (free tea and coffee). Also available a multi-purpose room for meetings, gaming, clubs, proctor and more.
During the months of June to August, the library offers a Summer Reading Program for kids when they can win prizes for the number of minutes read.
