Programs and services are available at most installations for children up to age 12. Care may be provided in Child Development Centers, School Age Care Programs, and Family Child Care Homes. Please review the information to find out what programs and services are available at this installation. USAG Benelux-Brunssum Child Development Center (CDC) is located on JFC Brunssum and provides care to children between 6 weeks and 6 years. Programs include full day, part day and hourly care. The School Age Center program, located in the CDC, provides care for children from 5 years through 11 years. Phone: DSN 314 597-4273 or CIV +31 (0)45-5340273.
The JFC Brunssum Child Development Center (CDC) is located in Brunssum and within walking distance from the main gate.
Programs Offered
The CDC offers the following programs:
Eligibility
Any child between 6 weeks and 12 years of age who is a family member of a U.S. or NATO military member or a U.S. or NATO civilian is eligible to attend any child care program. The CDC will provide care to children between 6 weeks and 6 years and the SAC program will provide care for children from 5 years through 11/12 years.
The CDS programs insure that children are offered food at least every 3 hours while in our care. Breakfast, Morning Snack, Lunch, Afternoon Snack and Late Afternoon Snack are served. Parents are always welcome to join their child for a meal.
Registration
To register your child, you will need to bring the following documents to the Parents Central Services:
All required paperwork must be fully completed. Any changes in address, telephone and emergency contacts must be reported immediately.
Waiting List Policy
When all child spaces are filled, a waiting list will be kept for each age group. Parents wishing to place their child on the waiting list must complete the waitlisit paperwork. The other paperwork will not be required until the child is actually placed in a program. When a space becomes vacant, parents will be contacted at the phone number provided. If offered a spot the family will have 48 hours to except or decline placement. When the placement is excepted the family has 2 weeks to start care, if they need more time they will be required to pay the full fee to secure the spot.

Costs
In accordance with the Military Childcare Act (MCCA) of 1989, U.S. Army has established a fee policy for full day, part day, before and after school and hourly care programs. These fees are on a sliding scale based on the combined income of both parents, to include Housing allowance and BAS to figure the families Total Family income (TFI).
Hours of Operation
The CDC is open Monday Friday from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. All CYS Services programs observe all JFC Brunssum International holidays. They are open on all National holidays.
School Age Center (SAC)is located in the same building as the Child Development Center on JFC HQ Brunssum.
The SAC Before/After School Program is offered to children from 5 to 11 years of age during the school year.
Children may attend before school only, after school only, or before and after school. When school is closed, children may attend the program anytime between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm at no additional cost.
The Summer Camp is a special program offering activities for 5 to 11 year olds while school is out during the summer.
Our Child and Youth Professionals plan many special activities and field
trips for the youth.
Youth may attend the full day program between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm or the camp only between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.
