When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
You will fly into Ramstein, Germany where you will be met by a representative of the Ramstein Gateway Reception Center (RGRC), who will explain the procedure you must follow while processing into the Army in Europe.
Upon arrival at the RGRC, Soldiers will be processed for assignments and be issued pinpoint orders. All Soldiers must process through a Gateway Reception Center. Sponsors picking up Soldiers at the International Airport after duty hours or weekends must bring the soldier to the Gateway Reception Center for in-processing.
The Sponsorship Bus (S-Bus) departs the Gateway Reception Center on the same day as you arrive in Germany, the S-Bus arrives at the Clay Kaserne Wiesbaden Army Lodge Hotel. This bus is a chartered coach and has latrine facilities on board.
If you get married before you PCS, you must inform your commander and follow the procedures exactly as you are given them, the military will not pay for travel and housing of your spouse if you do not follow proper procedures.
When you arrive at the Gateway Reception Center please have your orders ready. You will be directed to the appropriate in-processing station. Depending upon what time your flight arrives and the number of soldiers being processed that day you could be on your way to Wiesbaden the same day or early the next day. If for any reason your pinpoint assignment cannot be assigned on your arrival day, the Replacement Control Section will arrange to accommodate you and your family and pets at the Gateway Reception Center.
The Gateway Reception Center will bus all Soldiers and their family to Wiesbaden Army Lodge Hotel (Lodging arrangements must be made in advance of arrival, upon arrival, if your room is unavailable a statement of non-availability will be issued, Single/unaccompanied Soldiers E-6 and below will be assigned Single Soldiers quarters on Clay Kaserne). Your sponsor or a representative from your unit will meet you at the Wiesbaden Army Lodge. . All Soldiers will be provided instructions that cover the duration of inprocessing, which is approximately 10 duty days. Soldiers that arrive to Wiesbaden via the S-Bus on the Weekend will be taken to Army Lodging. They will be greeted by their sponsor or a unit representative and be provided instructions that cover the next duty day.
During the next ten days the soldier will be scheduled to attend In-processing Training Center (ITC) classes. Spouses may attend any portion of the training (when space available), except for Driver Orientation on Thursdays, spouses must make their own Driver Orientation appointment at the Clay Kaserne Testing office.
