To report sexual assault, please call the DoD SAFE Helpline at 877-995-5247 or the YPG 24 Hour Helpline at 928-920-3104.

For immediate emergency assistance in reporting domestic violence please call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233 or YPG 24 Hour Helpline at 928-287-3361.

For Army Emergency Relief assistance, please call 928-328-2332 or DSN 312-899-2332.

Note: After duty hours and during federal holidays, please contact the American Red Cross/Ft. Sill Case Management Center at 877-272-7337.

U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground does not have a local American Red Cross on the installation. The Yuma community American Red Cross does not provide financial assistance.

Army Emergency Relief, or AER, can be reached by calling 928-328-2332 or DSN 312-899-2332. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. After hours, beneficiaries may contact the American Red Cross at 877-272-7337.

Army Emergency Relief provides emergency financial assistance to eligible soldiers (active or retired) and their families. Spouses must provide a valid special power of attorney and unit contact information, if seeking assistance during the service member's absence.

Who is Eligible for AER Services:

1. Soldiers on active duty and their eligible dependents.
2. Army Reserve and National Guard Soldiers activated on Title 10 orders for more than 30 days and their eligible dependents.
3. Soldiers retired for longevity or medical and their eligible dependents.
4. Surviving spouses who have not remarried and children of Soldiers who died on active duty or died after reaching retirement eligibility.

Hours of operation for Army Community Service are Monday-Thursday, 6 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. ACS is closed Fridays, Sundays and holidays. Call 928-328-2513.

The Information, Referral and Follow-up Program provides commanders, service members and families with information about military and civilian community resources. Clients will be provided with the information or assistance needed, or will be referred to the social service agency that can best assist them.

The Yuma Salvation Army office is located at 445 S. 4th Avenue, Yuma, AZ  85364 and can be reached at 928-783-0181 or via email at yumahelp@usw.salvationarmy.org. Office hours are Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Closed Fridays, and weekends.

Services include assistance with emergency food, utilities (APS and Southwest Gas), water and rent (when funds are available), personal hygiene kit, case management and veteran services. 

Food Boxes: available Tuesdays and Thursdays only, to single and family unit that are in an emergency or difficult financial situation. Requirements:

• Picture ID (must be current and original)
• Proof of residency (utility bill or lease or government letter under client's name with address)
• ID for every member of the family (under the age of 18 years old birth certificate, and must be current and original)

Sandwiches: available Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Must provide first and last name.

APS, Water and Southwest Gas Assistance: available to single and family units that have a temporary financial emergency preventing them from paying essential bills to include medical, car repairs, temporary lost job, prison, divorce, etc.  No deposits, late fees, or other fees for utilities.

Gather the following requirements and call for an appointment. Must have all items below at the appointment:

• Utility Bill(s) (bill must be in client's name)
• Picture ID (must be current and original) for client and ID's for all family members (for those under the age of 18 a birth certificate can be used)
• Proof of Financial Emergency (reason you could not pay:)
• Proof of Income for the whole household (a 30-day picture)-Check Stubs, Child Support, Alimony, AFDC Cash Assistance, Food Stamps, Disability Benefits (SSDI/SSI), Social Security, etc.

Rental Assistance: available to single and family units that have a temporary financial emergency preventing them from paying essential bills to include medical, car repairs, temporary lost job, prison, divorce, etc.  No deposits for rent, no late fees, or other fees for rent. 

Gather the following requirements and call for an appointment. Must have all items below at the appointment:

• Nonpayment notice
• Current lease or a month-to-month agreement
• Picture ID (must be current and original) for client and ID's for all family members (for those under the age of 18 a birth certificate can be used)
• Proof of Financial Emergency (reason you could not pay)
• Proof of Income for the whole household (a 30 day picture)-Check Stubs, Child Support, Alimony, AFDC Cash Assistance, Food Stamps, Disability Benefits (SSDI/SSI), Social Security, etc.

Veteran Assistance: Gather the following requirements and call for an appointment. Must have all items below at the appointment:

• Picture ID (must be current and original) for client and ID's for all family members (for those under the age of 18 a birth certificate can be used)
• DD214
• Quotes/bills needing assistance with
• Proof of Financial Emergency (reason you could not pay)
• Proof of Income for the whole household (a 30 day picture)
• If applicable, proof of VA disability rating

2-1-1 Arizona Information and Referral Service operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week and every day of the year. Live-operator service is available at all times in English and Spanish and assistance is available in other languages via real-time interpreter services. You may reach 211 online, by calling 2-1-1 within Arizona, and 877-211-8661 from anywhere.

2-1-1 Arizona operators will help individuals and families find resources that are available to them locally, throughout the state, and provide connections to critical services that can improve – and save – lives, including:

• Utilities Assistance
• Emergency Information and Disaster Relief
• Employment and Education Opportunities
• Services for Veterans
• Healthcare, vaccination and health epidemic information
• Addiction Prevention and Rehabilitation Programs
• Support groups for individuals with mental illnesses or special needs
• A safe, confidential path out of physical and/or emotional domestic violence
