Family housing eligibility for assignment

1. Active-duty military personnel assigned to Yuma Proving Ground or assigned to military units attached to YPG
2. Army personnel not assigned or attached to the installation but assigned for duty within 30 miles or one hour commuting distance of the installation
3. Military personnel of other services assigned for duty in the area of the installation for whom support agreements for housing have been established
4. Federal government civilian employees, federal government retirees and Department of Defense contractors working at YPG

Application procedures

Download and print the application for housing by logging onto Desert Oasis Communities and selecting the how to apply tab; then choosing either the military or civilian application.

On-post housing is not mandatory for all military assigned/attached to Yuma Proving Ground or to a tenant activity. However, it is requested military members assigned/attached to YPG report to the Family Housing Office before making arrangements for renting, leasing or purchasing any off-post housing.

YPG's housing consists of three, four, and five-bedroom units with at least one garage (some have two-car garages). Sizes range from 1,661 square feet to 2,100 square feet in the five-bedroom models. All family quarters are centrally heated and air conditioned. Kitchens are equipped with a range, refrigerator, garbage disposal and automatic dishwasher.

Housing requirements on Yuma Proving Ground for EFMPs are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Temporary Lodging

The chain IHG Army Hotels operates lodging on YPG. Reservations need to be made prior to arrival and can be done by calling 928-388-6200. Reservations should be made well in advance to ensure availability as the hotel stays pretty busy. Additionally please call the hotel for the current rates.

Those completing a permanent change of station do not have priority for rooms.

The hotel does accept pets. A $75 charge per pet will be charged to your credit/debit card upon arrival. There will be an additional $10 non-refundable charge per night per pet that will start on the 8th night of your stay.
