Legal Assistance

The OCJA Legal Assistance Office provides legal counseling and assistance to active-duty military personnel, retirees and their family members on a wide-variety of personal legal matters to include estate planning, family law, and immigration and citizenship. The Legal Assistance Office has Arizona notaries who provide administrative notarial services to all Yuma Proving Ground personnel.

Yuma Proving Ground OCJA provides responsive, effective and efficient legal advice and services to commanders, staff, tenant activities, active-duty and retired military personnel and their family members at Yuma Proving Ground and subordinate commands in the legal functional areas of military justice, international law, administrative law, civil law (contractual, environmental and fiscal law), operational law, claims and legal assistance.

The Yuma Proving Ground OCJA is an exemplary U.S. Army legal office comprised of highly trained personnel committed to excellence and client satisfaction who provide outstanding full-service legal support in all functional areas in a superbly resourced professional environment and work-friendly atmosphere.

The Yuma Proving Ground Office of the Command Judge Advocate Claims Branch is tasked with processing and forwarding all non-contractual claims within our jurisdiction to the Fort Huachuca Office of the Staff Judge Advocate Claims Office for appropriate handling on behalf of and against the Army. This encompasses claims submitted under the Federal Torts Claims Act, Military Claims Act, Personnel Claims Act, Claims against Non-appropriated Fund Instrumentalities, and the Federal Claims Collection Act.
