A wide range of programs are available for youth and teens, including youth sports and recreation programs, educational programs and programs that support leadership and career development. Please review the information to learn what programs and services are available at this installation.
The Before and After School Program offers care beginning at 6:30 a.m. and ends at 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Children must be enrolled in kindergarten through 12 years old to participate in the Before and After School program. Parents must provide each child's current immunization records to enroll them. Also, bring current LES's and verification of other household income as fees are based on total family income and fee categories. Each Family will need to create a CYPBMS account. If families have had an account at a previous installation, we will gather the information for a transfer request.

Youth Sponsorship Program
If you are a teenager moving to Altus AFB, you will discover that Altus teens have the same interests, hopes, dreams and concerns that you have. Most teens keep busy going to school, being involved in extracurricular activities such as band or sports, working part-time jobs, and volunteering,
Before arrival, you may want to request a local teen to correspond with through the Pen Pal Program, “Kids Talking to Kids,” at the base Youth Center. Contact the Altus AFB Youth Center for pen-pal information. The Youth Center staff has an e-mail address for newcomers to correspond directly with peers in this area. Contact with a new Youth Center friend will help you to adjust and transition more easily when you arrive in Altus. Through contact with your Pen Pal, you can also find out "what's hot and what's not" in this area. After arrival, the quickest way to meet people and make new friends is to get involved. Participate in clubs, organizations and activities in school that interest you. Also, become involved in a local religious organization, take part in recreational opportunities and volunteer your time.

The Youth Center assists active duty personnel and DoD civilians by offering a safe learning environment for school age youth ages 5 to 18.
Located in Building 1866 on West River Drive, the Youth Center is affiliated with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and 4H.
The Altus AFB Youth Center is the "fun and active" place to be.
The Youth Center offers daily fun and exciting after school activities and open recreation programs in a safe environment. Some programs include: cosmic bowling, field trips, pool, foosball, crafts, cooking projects, photography, fine arts, Youth Lock-Ins, and community support.
