With certain military moves, you may find yourself looking for housing that’s a little less permanent before making long-term arrangements. There are several temporary housing options that may be right for you. Explore the information about temporary housing facilities including allowances, lodging rates and eligibility.
Upon your arrival to Altus Air Force Base, contact the 24-hour arrival point located in Building 82, Red River Inn.
You will be able to arrange temporary quarters for you and your family.
It is suggested that you make reservations at least four weeks in advance by calling 580-481-7356 or DSN 312-866-7356.
You are authorized 10 days of Temporary Living Expense reimbursement from military pay.
If you stay in quarters prior to your arrival here, this will count towards your 10 days of TLE reimbursement.
All students must check with the base Finance Office to determine their entitlements.
Altus has six pet-friendly temporary lodging rooms; if they are occupied, you will need to make arrangements for your pets in one of the four local community boarding facilities.
Personnel stationed overseas who are returning to Altus AFB to separate from the service must report to Building 52, at the M&FRC to speak with a TAP representative and MPF between 07:30-16:30 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday; Thursday 07:30-13:00 on the first duty day after arriving in the area.
The Lodging Office is the 24-hour arrival point for all newly arriving military members and their families.
The Red River Inn Lodge (billeting) has 30 temporary housing facilities.
Provided space is available, there is a maximum stay of 15 days for incoming personnel on permanent change of station status and seven days for outgoing personnel on PCS status.
Reservations for these quarters are made on a first-come, first-served basis.
Reservations can be made in advance once you are aware of your arrival or departure dates.
Attendant on duty is located in Building 82.

Temporary Living Expenses
Temporary Living Expenses certificates are issued by lodging if quarters are not available on base.
However, personnel are required to check with our front desk prior to making arrangements with downtown motels in order to acquire a TLE certificate.
We cannot issue TLEs to personnel on their first or last base assignments.
