When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
Your first stop is your unit Commander Support Staff (CSS). Your CSS will process all gain actions needed to support your arrival and stay here at Eglin AFB.

Newcomers Orientation for Active-Duty, DOD Civilian, Contractors, and Family Members
The Newcomer's Orientation welcomes all military, DOD civilian, contractors, and their spouses to Eglin Air Force Base. This orientation takes place twice a month on the second and fourth Monday. This half a day session provides an introduction to Team Eglin, to include Eglin’s senior leaders and available helping agencies. Newcomers is held at the Eglin Enlisted Hall, 1760 Memorial Trail, Eglin AFB, FL 32542. Registration is required to attend and can be completed by contacting your Commander Support Staff (CSS) or the Eglin M&FRC AT 882-9060.
Air Force Aid Society Childcare for PCS Program<
The Childcare for PCS Program is a community enhancement program through the Air Force Aid Society (AFAS) that pays for 20 hours of childcare per child (ages six months to 12 years) for active-duty AF families within 60 days of PCSing in/out. Care is provided by a licensed Family Child Care provider through the installation. If interested, please stop by the M&FRC to obtain a program voucher. The M&FRC is located at 502 W Matre Ave, building 205, Eglin AFB. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Sponsor’s Role
Upon notification of your PCS, you should be assigned a sponsor from your gaining unit to assist you with your relocation. The sponsor’s role is to provide the necessary resources pertaining to relocation and to minimize the stress that comes along with PCSing. To request a sponsor, call the gaining unit’s Commander Support Staff (CSS) or Military Personnel Services at 850-882-6331 or 850-882-2742.
If you get married prior to your PCS, you MUST inform your command and follow procedures exactly as prescribed. The military WILL NOT PAY for the travel and housing expenses of your spouse, if you do not follow proper procedures. Please contact the Traffic Management Office (TMO) / Personal Property Office at 850-882-8331 for questions while in transit.
