When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Fort Hood ID Cards Facility/DEERS/ID Cards Office:
Supports 175 counties for Enrollment/Update of DEERS and issues Next Generation USIDs ID Cards to all retirees/100% DAVs and their family members. Common Access Cards (CAC’s) will be issued to all civilian, and contractor government employees. Online appointments can be made at https://idco.dmdc.osd.mil/idco/. Family members, retirees, and Disabled Veterans (DAV) must make their appointments by selecting the Ft. Hood Installation ID Card Facility Building 130 TJ Mills Blvd and Battalion Ave, FORT HOOD, TX 76544 link.
For active duty, civilians, and contractors must make their appointment by selecting the Ft. Hood MPC 1 “CAC APPOINTMENT ONLY” BUILDING 130 TJ MILLS BLVD AND BATTALION AVE, FORT HOOD, TX 76544 link. The new location for the Fort Hood ID Card Facility is on the corner of T.J. Mills and Battalion Avenue, Building 130 adjacent from the Chili’s Restaurant. The sponsor must be present for all transactions during the time dependent is receiving an ID card or dependent must have a verified or notarized DD Form 1172-2 or a valid general or special power of attorney in order to be service without sponsor.
Two forms of state or federal issued IDs are required for 18 years and older; one must be a valid state or federal photo ID. Neither can be expired. All names on ID presented for validation, must matched the names in DEERS. All documents must be original copy or certify copy with file number. All documents must be in English. Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m-11:30 a.m. closed from 11:30 a.m. through 1 p.m. for lunch. Opens again from 1 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Closed on all weekends and federal holidays. All Soldiers arriving to Fort Hood, Texas will in-process through the Reception Detachment, operated by Headquarters and Headquarters Company, U.S. Army Garrison Fort Hood.
Uniform: Operational Camouflage Pattern (OCP), if signing in Monday through Friday during duty hours (8 a.m.-5 p.m.). The Army Physical Fitness Uniform Pant (APFU) is not authorized to wear upon reporting.
Soldiers will need the following on arrival:
UPON ARRIVAL: Soldiers will sign-in and receive a briefing from the Reception Detachment Staff Duty personnel. Soldiers can expect to fill out paperwork, be assigned temporary lodging (if needed), and receive a 15-minute briefing about in-processing and Fort Hood.

Air -- The Airport offers a variety of services for the airline traveler and the General Aviation community; to include two scheduled airlines and ample parking. Scheduled airlines and ample parking. American Eagle Airline and United Airline offers daily flights to Killeen. Flight times are available on the airport's Killeen Airport website. Bus -- The Greyhound station at 216 E AVE C is open Monday- Sunday from 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Holidays 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. For ticket information, call 254-634-3843, 1-800-231-2222.
Taxi -- There are many taxi/cab companies in the Killeen- Fort Hood area. Contact information is maintained at the Welcome Desk at the airport.
