The larger system called the Military Family Readiness System is a web of support for you and your family. The Military and Family Support Center should be one of your first stops once you arrive at a new installation. The programs and services they offer are a key resource for you and your family.

Survivor Outreach Services (SOS) -- Our purpose is to deliver on the Army's commitment to Families of the Fallen. Survivor Outreach Services (SOS) connects you with people who can help you cope with your loss. SOS demonstrates the Army's commitment to Families of the Fallen by providing support and standardized services to Active, Reserve, and Army National Guard Families. Fort Hood SOS is staffed with 1 Program Manager, 2 Support Specialists, and 1 Financial Counselor to assist Families for as long as they need. We are located on the 1st floor of the Shoemaker Center, Bldg. 36000 on Shoemaker Lane and may be reached by phone at 254-288-3655.
