With certain military moves, you may find yourself looking for housing that’s a little less permanent before making long-term arrangements. There are several temporary housing options that may be right for you. Explore the information about temporary housing facilities including allowances, lodging rates and eligibility.
Availability
Izmir does not have on-base temporary lodging. Contracted commercial hotels in the Izmir area provide lodging at the government rate for official travel.
Reservations
It is critical to plan ahead and coordinate with your sponsor to make reservations at one of the authorized hotels. Reservations should be made as soon possible. If you make last-minute reservations, you run the risk of hotels being full. Pets
If you are planning to ship your pet to Türkiye, be advised that pets are only permitted at the Izmir Marriot Hotel. Be sure to inform your sponsor that a pet will be arriving with you.
Amenities
Amenities vary by hotel. Coordinate with your sponsor if you have specific needs. Hotels offer laundry and dry-cleaning services, but they may be expensive. Local laundry services are also available; your sponsor can help identify options.
Pets are only permitted at the Izmir Marriott Hotel. This is the only contracted commercial hotel in the area that allows pets. The hotel may charge you a one-time pet fee.
Pets over 55 pounds (25 kilograms) are not permitted. Pets must have a valid veterinary certificate showing current vaccination records.
Local pet boarding is also available in the area. Several English-speaking veterinarians are located in Izmir. Notify your sponsor if you are traveling with a pet.
Contact your sponsor. Reservations should be made as soon possible. If you make last minute reservations, but you may run the risk of hotels being full.
Some contracted hotels include amenities at the government rate, such as breakfast, Executive Lounge access, fitness centers, pools and spa services. Confirm available amenities with your sponsor when selecting a hotel. At check-in, verify included amenities with the front desk to ensure your key card provides access to those areas.
Reminder: Service members will need to submit TLA every 10 days through Finance.
Civilian employees, please work with the Civilian Personnel Office at Incirlik for further guidance. Ensure you have enough funds on your Government Travel Card. Request increase with your losing GTC management office, if needed.
