Availability

Izmir has been without a Temporary Lodging Facility (TLF) since 1 January 2004. However the 425 ABS Contracting Office has successfully negotiated a non-binding agreement (to be updated annually) with the three 5* and two 4* Commercial Hotels in the Izmir area, to provide lodging assistance on a room availability basis at an affordable cost for U.S. Military, DOD and Contract
Personnel on official travel orders to and from Izmir, excluding tax. We also provide courtesy space available support for lodging to U.S. Military Personnel, Retirees, and their family on leave at the same cost.

Check-In

The Reservation Assistance Office (RAO) located on the sixth floor of the Izmir Community Complex Hilton, is the point of contact (POC) for lodging reservation assistant. The Reservation Assistance Office is open Mon - Fri 07:30 - 16:30 hours DSN: 314-675-6749.  Reservations must be made in advance by your sponsor. You are authorized to stay up to 30 days for TLA only.

Pets

If you are planning to ship your pet to Turkey, be advised that pets are only permitted at the Swiss Grand Efes Otel and Izmir Marriot Hotel.  Be sure to inform your sponsor that a pet will be arriving with you.

Amenities

Upon request, some hotels may provide iron, ironing board and Fan; you can call the housekeeping to check for the availability. There are laundry and dry cleaning services in the hotel but can be expensive. There are free washers/dryers in the Izmir Community Complex Hilton, 5th floor for all inbound/outbound personnel.

Reservations

Contact Reservation Assistance Office to make reservations at DSN: 675-6759, Commercial 011-90-232-455-6759. Reservations should be made as soon possible, if necessary your sponsor can make reservations for you. If you make last minute reservations, you run the risk of hotels being full.

If you are planning to ship your pet to Turkey, be advised that pets are only permitted in the Izmir Marriot Hotel while you are in TLA status.  These are the only approved hotel in the area that will allow pets.  You will be responsible for a one time pet fee.  Pets over 55 pounds (25 kg) will not be permitted. Pets must have a valid pet certificate that details vaccination records provided by a veterinarian.  Another alternative is boarding your pet in a local facility.  There are several English speaking veterinarians in Izmir, Turkey.  Be sure to inform your sponsor that a pet will be arriving with you.
